DESTROYING BIG TECH MYTHS

No more privacy myth

We are going to be destroying a number of myths about privacy and Big Tech.

Let’s start with the NO MORE PRIVACY myth.

The “NO MORE PRIVACY” implies that online privacy is somehow incompatible with modern living, and is just an outdated notion we need to sacrifice in order to fully participate online and, enjoy all the benefits technology has to offer.

Some are even suggesting that those wanting privacy are “selfish” and must have something to hide. As with so many things we are told today, the exact opposite is true.

But there is one thing they say that does have a degree of truth. They will tell you that it’s nearly impossible to obtain online privacy without becoming some sort of online hermit.

This is by design. They have made it seem hard so you will give up.

The reason why it’s been hard is that we are usually sent down the wrong paths.

The Wrong Advice

most cybersecurity advice is NOT privacy advice

There is a huge amount of “cybersecurity” advice out there, but most cybersecurity advice is NOT privacy advice. This is an important distinction most people confuse the two.

The Wrong Threat Model

Most of the advice is also based on the wrong threat model.

Protecting you against these guys…

Hacking, Malware, Phishing, Social engineering
Hacking, Malware, Phishing, Social engineering

…while assuming these guys are to be considered your most trusted friends…

Big Tech Spying Platforms

The Wrong Approach

When you do find any real privacy advice it usually takes the wrong approach, by focusing on just trying to make your real identity fully private.

The problem is that the more you lock down any account, the harder it is to use. With this approach, you actually do need to become an online hermit to achieve any real online privacy.

Different Approach

10 Steps is focused on real privacy…

By using a different approach that is a powerful, yet little-known method (I mentioned earlier), you will be able to achieve a high level of privacy, without having to lock down your accounts or change lots of settings.
