We’re here to help as many as possible reach the Digital Freedom finish line
We don’t need everyone, just a small percentage of motivated freedom lovers will be enough to secure a path to Digital Freedom for ALL, one that cannot be blocked.
No Prerequisites – Open to Everyone
The Race to Digital Freedom is open to everyone. Whether you have little or no technical experience and feel nervous about getting behind the wheel, or you’re a seasoned pro navigating the Information Superhighway, this course is for you. Everyone, no matter their starting point, can make progress toward reclaiming their digital freedom.
Registration – None Required
You don’t need to register to join this race. We don’t want your name, email address, or any personal information. This course does not require you to create an account or interact with any form of tracking. You can participate entirely anonymously, in the safety and privacy of your own home.
Course Fees – PWYW
Pay What You Want

This course uses a Pay What You Want (PWYW) pricing model — meaning you decide how much to pay, based on the value you receive and what you can afford.
The full training is valued at $2,500, with each of the 10 steps representing $250 worth of insight, guidance, and tools. However, we’ve chosen not to lock this course behind a paywall, because we believe money shouldn’t be a barrier to learning how to take back control of your digital life.
At the end of each step, you’ll have the option to pay: $0 (free), $10, $25, $50, $100, or $250.
If you can’t afford anything right now, that’s completely fine — consider it our gift to you. All we ask is that you pay it forward by helping spread awareness of Digital Freedom and supporting others on this path.
Every payment helps cover operational costs and allows us to keep sharing this knowledge with more people who need it.
This model is built on trust. You choose what it’s worth to you — and we thank you for being part of something bigger.
Driver’s License – None Required
DFA Virtual Drivers License

While you don’t need one, we will issue all participants agreeing to the Conditions of Entry and Terms of Service with a free DFA Virtual Learner’s Permit, and upon completing the 10 Steps training, you’ll be issued your full DFA Virtual Driver’s License (a certificate of completion you can proudly share).
Our Drivers Licences have magical qualities…
How to Use the Training
Can you use CARS for just specific parts of your life?
Absolutely — many people begin with just one area they’re most concerned about. That’s a valid starting point. But keep in mind: some parts of your digital life that seem unimportant may actually introduce unseen risks elsewhere.
It’s okay to cherry-pick from the training, but true digital freedom comes when you’ve examined and protected every compartment of your digital life. That’s how you ensure the areas you care most about aren’t silently compromised by the ones you’ve overlooked.
Do as much or as little as you want — it all counts.
Every step improves your privacy. The more you do, the stronger your own protection becomes — and the more you contribute to building a culture of digital privacy for everyone.
Baby Steps get you to the finish line

While compartmentalisation is the core strategy behind CARS, another equally powerful method is chunking — the ability to zoom in or out of your digital journey.
Each step is broken down into micro-chunks we call Baby Steps — small, manageable actions that support continuous, incremental progress. By isolating one aspect at a time — whether it’s a single tool, service, habit, or risk — you avoid overwhelm and gain momentum.
But it’s not just about zooming in. You also have the ability to chunk up to get a bird’s eye view of the road ahead, see how the parts connect, and understand where you are on the map.
The idea is simple: keep moving forward, one decision at a time. These small actions, embedded into your daily routine, allow you to steadily reclaim control without disrupting your digital life all at once.
Safety First – Stay in Control
It’s a Race but Always Drive at a Safe Speed!

In this race, you’re up against the clock, but speed isn’t everything. The goal isn’t to rush recklessly toward the finish line, it’s to drive at a pace that keeps you in control. Racing is about knowing when to push forward and when to slow down to safely navigate obstacles.
As the driver, start slow, practice, and build your speed as you gain confidence. Drive to the conditions and avoid unnecessary risks. With practice, what once felt intimidating will soon feel natural, allowing you to pick up speed. The key is staying in control, ensuring every move keeps you heading toward the finish line and Digital Freedom.
No Need to Buy Anything
Start with what’s Already in Your Garage

You don’t need new devices, software, or tools to begin. Start with what you already have. Whether your setup is outdated or cutting-edge, it’s enough to get moving. If you’re considering new tech, hold off until you’ve completed the 10 Steps. By then, you’ll be better informed about what aligns with your privacy and security needs. The focus is on building from your existing resources and tailoring solutions to your unique needs.
Create A Custom Escape Plan
One Size Does Not Fit All

We recognise that everyone’s security and privacy needs are different. That’s why this course empowers you to build Custom CARS—digital profiles uniquely tailored to your specific requirements. The ability to adapt is key in a constantly evolving digital landscape, where new privacy threats regularly emerge.
Legal Considerations
Are Escape CARS Street Legal?

Everything taught in the 10 Steps training is completely legal in most countries – at least for now anyway. But legality isn’t our highest standard. This training is grounded in our 12 Guiding Principles of Digital Freedom, which prioritise individual rights, autonomy, and the need to reclaim control over our digital lives. These principles stand above shifting political agendas and aren’t subject to the whims of governments that routinely fail to protect the very people they claim to serve.
That said, we recognise that some authoritarian regimes — under the pretext of “safety,” “security,” or some manufactured threat — may attempt to restrict or even criminalise aspects of digital privacy and self-protection. If you live in one of these environments, we encourage caution, discretion, and secure access. Your safety matters. This course exists because we believe no one should need permission to protect their own life, data, or communication from abuse, surveillance, or control.
