10 Steps to Escape the Big Tech Digital Prison
Step 1 – Introduction : ?
The Vehicle:
Separation using Technology : Hardware, Software and Networks
HARDWARE SEPARATION
Hardware separation is about using physical devices such as computers, laptops, phones, tablets, or external drives. Having access to multiple devices gives you more options by allowing you to spread your CARS across different devices.
SOFTWARE SEPARATION
Software separation involves creating isolated environments within a single device to compartmentalise your CARS. Common methods include using operating system-based accounts/profiles. Separation can also be achieved at the application level, by using privacy respecting alternatives and by employing strategies like using multiple web browsers. We will also cover using advanced tools and techniques for seperation.
NETWORK SEPERATION
Network separation involves isolating your CARS by using different network connections or routing methods for each profile. For most people, this involves using multiple ISPs and tools like Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and proxies.
More advanced methods include using multiple routers, network segmentation, relays and dedicated Internet Service Providers. When high levels of privacy or anonymity is required alternative networks such as Tor, Qortal, Freenet and I2P can be used.
