In the Race to Escape the Big Tech Digital Prison, two powerful opponents stand in your way:

The Saboteur AKA Big Tech manipulates your path, steering you toward invasive systems while making privacy-focused alternatives harder to find.

The Enforcer AKA Big Brother works to limit or try to outlaw access to Digital Freedom Technologies, placing restrictions on tools that prioritize your privacy.

Together they try to limit access to Digital Freedom Technologies

These two adversaries often work together and are determined to block your way, but with the right strategies, you can outmaneuver their roadblocks and keep your journey to Digital Freedom on track.

Sabotaging our Technology

BIG TECH OBSTACLES

Big Tech creates roadblocks to keep you locked into their ecosystem and prevent you from even learning about Digital Freedom.

Example: No Private Email For You

(they want to read all your messages)

Big Tech have used their power to hold back the development of the internet and block us from having even private email.  Encrypted email should be a reality by now. Open standards like PGP and S/MIME offer end-to-end encryption, which ensures that only the sender and recipient can access the content of an email.

These technologies are highly secure and could easily be integrated into mainstream email services like Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo Mail. But despite decades of availability, Big Tech platforms have refused to support these standards natively. Instead, they’ve chosen to maintain the status quo, keeping users dependent on their surveillance-heavy systems for control.

Blocking our Freedoms

BIG BROTHER OBSTACLES

Governments act as gatekeepers to much of your digital life. While they sometimes use laws to directly block your exits, they more often rely on mandates, regulations, and directives to place significant roadblocks in your way.

Example: No Financial Freedom For You

(Privacy Coins effectively “Banned” in Australia)

Governments frequently use influence and behind-the-scenes directives to enforce compliance with their objectives. Businesses are pressured to comply with mandates, even when there are no explicit laws in place to back them up.

A perfect example of this hidden compliance is how privacy coins are handled in Australia. Privacy coins enable individuals to transact privately and securely, outside of government and corporate surveillance. However, AUSTRAC (Australia’s financial intelligence agency) has regulated exchanges to delist privacy coins even though no law prohibits Australians from buying or using them.

The result? Australians simply don’t see privacy coins as an option on major public crypto exchanges. These tools for financial privacy have been quietly removed, effectively denying people a crucial means of obtaining financial freedom and privacy.

Compliance is the unseen tyranny!
